Curtis L. Matlin

President, CLU®, ChFC®, CASL

Curt founded Matlin Financial Services in 1990. He is an active participant in industry organizations as a 26-year member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and a Life and Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) since 1997. Curt has served in numerous leadership positions, including chairman, International Ethics Committee for MDRT, and committee member for MDRT several years running.  

Having graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, Curt has since acquired multiple advanced designations including Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), and Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL). Curt holds his FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations and life and health insurance licenses in 26 states.

Curt believes in giving back to the community and serves as board vice president of Salute, Inc., an organization that works tirelessly to meet the financial, physical, and emotional needs of military service members, veterans, and their families.

In his spare time, Curt enjoys running, biking, and enjoying farm-to-table meals prepared along with his wife. They live in Wilmette.

Andrew R. Schumacher

Financial Planner

Andrew joined Matlin Financial in 2014. He is a graduate of the College of William & Mary in Virginia receiving his bachelor’s of business administration with a minor in history. Andrew holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations and is licensed in life and health insurance in Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Florida, and New Jersey. He is studying to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.

Andrew is a self-described grillmaster, aspiring handyman, and is active in his local church. He enjoys spending time with his wife of eight years and their one-year-old daughter. They live in Chicago.

Hannah Pankey

Client Relationship Manager

Hannah Pankey has been a Client Relationship Manager at Matlin Financial since March of 2011.  In this role, she works with clients to ensure the seamless coordination of services and implementation of their financial goals.  She proactively organizes and oversees a variety of client service needs and initiatives to keep the practice running smoothly.  Hannah graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  After graduation she obtained her health and life insurance license in the state of IL.  Hannah has a passion for lifelong learning and is currently a graduate student at Creighton University’s Heider College of Business.  She is enrolled in the Financial Psychology & Behavioral Finance Graduate Certificate Program and is enjoying it immensely.

In her free time, Hannah enjoys spending quality time with her friends & family.  As a recent, former resident of Chicago, Arlington Heights & Palatine, Hannah enjoys discovering her new “neighborhood of the month” by exploring local “hidden gems”, restaurants, boutiques and farmers markets.  She loves traveling to new and exciting places and hopes to return to Spain and Italy in the near future.
